World’s Richest Athlete Is Also The Stingiest

*Floyd Mayweather notches up $25,000 nightclub bill after Marcos Maidana bout, leaves $0 tip FLOYD Mayweather’s sizeable fortune grew another $32 million when he beat Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand on Saturday night. But he wasn’t sharing a cent of it afterwards. According to TMZ, Mayweather strode into the Hard Rock with an entourage of about 150 people on Sunday night. The group racked up a staggering $US24,000 worth of chicken wings and booze — but not a single penny was tipped to the waitress who doted on them all night. Waitress Nik Nguyen confided to TMZ that she “went the extra mile to provide Floyd and company with excellent service” but wasn’t rewarded for her efforts, as is custom in the US. Mayweather and his posse ordered: 5 bottles of Patron tequila — $2375 3 Grey Goose vodka — $1425 6 bottles of Ciroc vodka — $2850 20 bottles of Luc Belaire Rose champagne — $11,500 1 six-litre bottle of Luc Belaire Rose — $6500 200 chicken wings — $600 1 fruit platter — $55 TOTAL BILL: $25,305 The stinginess seems a little out of character for the world’s highest-paid athlete, Mayweather, whose Instagram account serves as an envy-inducing inventory of his luxury possessions. Team Mayweather is yet to respond to Ms Nguyen’s claims. But if the giant act of cheapskatery turns out to be bona fide, it certainly outdoes this effort by LeSean McCoy last week.
