'Naked' Colombian cyclists Cause Stir In Italy Race
A Colombian women’s cycling team has caused a stir when the kit they revealed for a race in northern Italy gave the appearance that the riders were semi-naked.
The uniform was a traditional cycling outfit from the chest up and the thighs down, but the midriff and groin were covered in flesh-coloured fabric with an unfortunate shadow.
The team is backed by the Colombian ministry of sport and has sponsorship from the city of Bogota.
This year there have already been a number of high profile fashion fails in the sporting arena. The swimsuit of the Australian team at the Commonwealth Games was widely criticised for highlighting the crotch area of the swimmers while Scotland’s uniform for the Games had the locals cringing with its clichéd motifs.
