Eagles Still Need Uche , Says Agara
Former Nasarawa State Youth and Sports Commissioner, Hon. Silas Agara, who is contesting to be on the board of the Nigeria Football Federation, is insisting that the scoreless achieved by the Super Eagles against South Africa in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday was not a bad result. He said despite the scoreline, the players performance was a far improvement to the defeat at home to the Republic of Congo. He attributes this to the work of the technical crew.
“We could have done better and I think that the technical crew should l still leave the door open to other known players to participate if their contributions would achieve desired results. I have in mind a player like Ike Uche and others. I'm optimistic we can make it
Meanwhile Hon. Agara, has disclosed that he has an “agenda of grassroots football advocacy to sell to Nigerians, which is why he is in the race for the second time to grab a board seat.. “What we have been doing here in Nasarawa State for sometime now is what I want to carry to the NFF board. We have always focused on giving the youths an opportunity to showcase their talents using the state teams for both boys and girls to develop “youth potential.”.It has been a successful project in Nasarawa State and I do feel that I can do a broader and in-depth perspective of grassroots development from inside the board by working closely with my colleagues.
