As the congress of the Nigeria women premier league hold
weekend to fashion out modalities for
the 2015 season, both Taraba Queens chairman, Mustapha Tahir whose team are
campaigners in the premier cadre and Augustine Ikenwa, proprietor of Lagos
based Cerezo Queens who are in the professional league division one say their
teams are ready to play. “We took time to screen, recruit and prepare for the
season. We took our time because I want a better performance from my team this
season than we had in the last said Tahir. If possible, I want them to aspire
for the top.” Tahir heaved a sigh of relief that the long wait to have the
congress and get the league going was over, saying “we are eager to play
especially put into practice work done putting a team in place since at year
end.”
Speaking on his part, Ikenwa, whose Cerezo side went down to
the lower division from the premier they hitherto had featured, said my coaches
have gotten the ready this time and our intension will be to return to the top
flight.” I am attending the congress in Abuja to help fashion out a road map
for the new season,” Ikenwa said. The Congress of the Nigeria Women Football
League (NWFL) and the draws of the 2015 Premier League will hold in Abuja on
Tuesday 24th March, 2015. Stakeholders are expected in the city by weekend.
