Healthnews: Models holed Up After Ebola Flight

Models Axl Goode and Taylor Cole ‘self quarantine’ after sitting near Ebola nurse Amber Vinson on flight to Dallas
TWO romance novel models who were seated just metres away from an Ebola-stricken nurse on a flight to Dallas have placed themselves in a 21-day quarantine.
Texans Axl Goode and Taylor Cole flew on Frontier Airlines Flight 1143 on Monday night after returning from a convention outside Cleveland. They were seated just a few metres from Amber Vinson, the nurse who contracted Ebola after treating Thomas Eric Duncan, the man who subsequently died of the virus.

Axl Goode speaks about Ebola flight

Goode wrote on Facebook that he contacted the CDC hotline after realising they may have been exposed to Ebola only to have to wait 81 minutes for someone to pick up.
He said authorities put them in a voluntary quarantine.
“It is pretty scary sitting inside quarantine waiting around because you don’t know,” Goode told AP. “What if my thermometer — all of a sudden the temperature jumps — and I find out that I’m running a fever?”
Goode said he only found out about his possible exposure when his dad texted him to tell him that he had been on the same plane as Vinson.
“Dad, are you messing with me. This isn’t funny,” he texted back.
Goode then texted Cole to tell him to stay inside.
“Definitely don’t go to Houston today. We’re going to have to take the next 3 weeks off work,” he told his friend.
Goode said he isn’t as nervous as he was initially but that he is losing faith in the ability of the CDC to manage the crisis.
“I still haven’t been contacted further by the CDC and I’m not very confident in their abilities,” he wrote on Facebook.
Supporters have set up a GoFundMe campaign that has already raised $2800 to support Goode and Cole while they are unable to work.
