Sky Sports reports that Fiorentina are in talks with Chelsea, but the English
club must reach the $51m buyout clause before the Serie A club even
countenances the idea.
Vincenzo Montella, Fiorentina’s coach, said: “In his
contract there is an escape clause and if another team pays this amount he can
leave Fiorentina — and if he agrees (to leave). But I think he will stay at
Fiorentina.
“The clause says £35 million and only in this situation is
it possible to buy. But I have not spoken to him about it.”
Manchester United had been strongly linked to the Colombian
in the summer window, but The Daily Mail reports that recent suggestions they
may try to scupper Chelsea’s
bid by offering Adnan Januzaj as bait is off the mark.
Andre Schurrle, who plays a similar role to Cuadrado,
appears on the way out at Chelsea but Wolfsburg chief executive
Klaus Allofs told Kicker no deal has been done yet to sign the German World Cup
star.
Finally at Stamford
Bridge, The Daily Mail
suggests 18-year-old Real Betis winger Dani Ceballos is in their range as well.
