Arts: For Only $20m You Can Live Like Jane Fonda In Her Amazing New Mexico Ranch

JANE FONDA is selling up her New Mexico ranch and if you’ve got $20 million it could be yours. The Pecos River flows through the 770ha property, known as Forked Lightning Ranch. According to its listing agents Swan Land Co, Fonda spent two years hiking, camping and horseback riding, the land before deciding where to build her home. She built a 890sq m Spanish colonial-style house, with six bedrooms and six full bathrooms. The mastersuite has a private study and a patio with views to the river. According to its listing in the early 1960s the property was owned by Texas oil tycoon Buddy Fogelson and his wife, actress Greer Garson, and a Hacienda and barn on the property were designed by renowned New Mexico architect John Gaw Meem. It said Fonda maintained the style to reconstruct the Hacienda and renovate the barn as a twelve-stall equestrian stable. The property also has a two-bedroom log house, which Fonda lived in while building her main home. According to Top Ten Real Estate Deals Fonda has owned the property for almost 14 years.
